“The Children’s Studies Program gives someone with a passion for children the opportunity to learn and implement a child-centered structure into their personal and professional life. It reminds us to take a look at children from their level. I used my degree to get in on the ground floor of a parent education program which brought me into a social worker role at Child Protective Services. Most people would think you’d need a degree in social work to do what I do, but in the end, it’s all about the children. Because of the ideas I learned in the Children’s Studies Program, I am now able to advocate for a permanent adoption plan for a child in our system.”
