Prepare for your Future
Running Start is a program that provides eligible high school juniors and seniors an excellent opportunity to earn both high school and university credit at no cost. Classes are taken through Eastern Washington University and will transfer to any four-year public university in Washington State, as well as most universities across the country. Testing is not required to earn credit. Running Start also provides high school students a wider range of course options, as well as the chance to experience more challenging or advanced courses. Courses may be taught on the high school campus, the university campus, or online depending on high school arrangements and student preference. With a staff of dedicated advisors, the Running Start office is here to ensure a smooth transition for students between high school and college life.
Students attend college courses on the EWU campus. You can enroll either full-time at EWU, or part-time while also attending your high school. Students can earn up to 15 tuition-free credits per quarter, and up to two years of free college credit if attending full-time.
Students attend their EWU course on their high school campus and receive college credit at no cost. Courses are taught by a high school faculty member who has been approved by EWU to teach college-level curriculum.
