What We Do
Running Start is for qualified high school juniors and seniors to attend college courses at no cost. Successful completion of a Running Start course enables students to earn high school and college credit simultaneously. The Financial Aid & Scholarships office along with the Admissions staff collaborate with Running Start to assist students with their college experience.
With a staff of dedicated advisors, the Running Start office is here to ensure a smooth transition for students between high school and college life. We advise students on graduation plans, scholarships, campus activities, and EWU’s network of learning resources. Credits earned through Running Start at EWU will transfer to any four-year university in Washington State and most universities across the country. To see where EWU credits will transfer, visit the Course Equivalency Guide for your prospective college.
High school juniors and seniors can earn up to 15 tuition-free credits while attending college courses on the EWU campus. They can be enrolled full- or part-time at EWU, while also attending their high school.
