Description

Eastern Washington University's major in Children's Studies is part of a 4-year higher education BA degree which focuses primarily on Early Childhood Education (ECE). Building on an ECE degree at Bellevue College, the Children's Studies program is concerned with the study and practice of the holistic development, learning, and social issues of young children.

EWU General Admission

  • 2.0 cumulative GPA in a qualified Direct Transfer Degree (DTA) from a two-year community college, an approved AAST track, or completion of general education requirements

Program Requirements

  • 90 credits of lower division course work (100-299 level courses) from a community college two-year Direct Transfer Degree (DTA), an approved AAST track, or completion of general education requirements
  • 90 credits at EWU
    • 42-43 credits of Core Courses
    • 19 credits Option C Early Childhood Through Children’s Studies course work
    • 30 credits of Elective course work
  • 180 total credits at time of graduation
